On July 29, 2001, a meeting was held at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC with the purpose of forming an association for licensed veterinary technicians within the state of South Carolina. Until now, South Carolina has not had its own association for the profession of Veterinary Technology apart from its involvement in NAVTA. We now have the South Carolina Association of Veterinary Technicians (SCAVT).
WHO ARE WE?
The South Carolina Association of Veterinary Technicians is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of veterinary technology through the unity of its profession. It is our goal to increase public awareness of the vital role the licensed technician plays in the veterinary healthcare team, and to provide a professional unity within our state. There is strength in numbers, and we are binding professionals together one technician at a time.
It is the main goal of the SCAVT to provide unity to veterinary technicians state-wide. By doing so, we provide a network of opportunities such as continuing education, employment opportunities, and the chance to make a difference. Promote and support your profession and yourself by becoming a member today!
