Dear SCAVT members,

Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!!  This is a week where there will be extra focus and appreciation for what we all do each day. Please know that no matter what area of the veterinary industry you are in, you matter. The work that you do makes a difference!

As we reflect on another year, the SCAVT Executive Board has been persistent and dedicated to advance the veterinary technician profession in South Carolina. Please know that we have been working hard to represent you, our valued members. If you would like to join a committee or be more active with the board, please email SCAVT1@gmail.com.  Your voice matters and the more members we represent the more progress we can make!

If you are an experienced LVT I hope that you are seeing the progression in our profession with better pay wages and efforts being made to promote education in our profession. If you are a new graduate, please know that there are pioneers working to make the road for your career path “a little less rocky”.  To student members, keep working hard to reach your goals and know we are here to support you and celebrate with you when you complete your programs. To each of you reading this, I hope that you will network within our association and find the value of the support we bring to each other.  Additionally, educate the public about what being a credentialed veterinary technician means.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Executive Board members who work hard“behind the scenes” for you with no expectation for their well-deserved recognition:
