What is the difference between an LVT, a CVT and an RVT?

The titles of “Licensed Veterinary Technician”, “Certified Veterinary Technician”, and “Registered Veterinary Technician” depends on each state's legislature, regulations and requirements of titling.

Most Licensed/Certified/Registered Veterinary Technicians have graduated from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program, and have passed the Veterinary Technology National Exam (VTNE).

Please note that some states have exceptions regarding their qualifications to obtain these titles. Some states do not have Title Protection, and these titles may be used inappropriately.

What is an Unlicensed Veterinary Aide?

Per SC Code of Law, Title 40, Chapter 69, Article 1(19) - "Veterinary Aide" means a nurse, attendant, intern, technician, or other employee of a veterinarian, other than a licensed veterinary technician.
